King Charles to make first US state visit, address Congress next month
SUMMARY
King Charles III will visit Washington next month and address Congress on the week of April 27. This will mark the first time a British royal has spoken to Congress since Queen Elizabeth II's address in 1991.
The visit was initially reported by Punchbowl News.
President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson have recently engaged with British leadership, with Johnson addressing Parliament earlier this year.
Charles’ visit coincides with ongoing U.S.-Israel tensions, as Trump pressures Prime Minister Keir Starmer for support. Starmer has asserted, "This is not our war, and we are not getting dragged into this war."
