Dominion Voting sold to company run by ex-GOP election official

Dominion Voting Systems has been sold to Liberty Vote, a Missouri company led by former Republican official Scott Leiendecker. Dominion is a major supplier of voting equipment, used in 27 states during the 2024 election. Liberty Vote intends to prioritize "paper-based transparency, security, and simplicity" in elections.

Leiendecker has deep ties to the Republican Party, and Liberty Vote will review and possibly replace Dominion's machines ahead of the midterms. Dominion previously faced false accusations from Trump and his allies regarding the 2020 election. The company has since settled multiple defamation lawsuits tied to those claims, including significant payments from Fox News and Newsmax.
