Estonia jails anti-NATO politicians for 'treason'

An Estonian court sentenced Aivo Peterson, the co-founder of the anti-NATO Koos party, to 14 years for treason. His associates received sentences of 11 years and 11 years and six months. They were accused of promoting pro-Russian narratives to undermine Estonia's national security and NATO.

Peterson argued that media in Estonia presented a biased view of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The Koos party insists the prosecution failed to prove any real harm to Estonia. Russia's Foreign Ministry labeled Estonia as a "hostile country." The defendants plan to appeal their sentences.
