Louisiana sues Roblox for allegedly aiding child predators
Louisiana Attorney General Murrill launched a lawsuit against Roblox in Livingston Parish, accusing the platform of fostering a dangerous environment for children. With over 80 million users, Roblox lacks age verification, enabling predators to pose as minors. Murrill declared, “Due to Roblox’s lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana.”
A recent Livingston arrest uncovered a suspect using Roblox and voice-altering technology to target children while possessing child sexual abuse material. The lawsuit alleges Roblox prioritizes profits, allowing harmful content to flourish.
Another case saw a Georgia mother sue, claiming her nine-year-old was sexually exploited on the platform. Murrill’s filing warns, “The end result is that Defendant, through its failure to implement adequate safety features and its failure to provide notice of the danger, provides the perfect place for pedophiles.” Louisiana demands accountability for Roblox’s negligence.
