Switzerland church is using an 'AI Jesus' to take confessions

A church in Switzerland has introduced an AI hologram of Jesus, called Deus in Machina, to take confessions. The AI sits behind a screen, providing advice and responding to worshippers' queries. One participant said, “I was surprised, it was so easy, and though it’s a machine, it gave me so much advice.”

The AI can converse in 100 languages and was developed by computer scientists and theologians. While some praised the initiative, others criticized it as a gimmick. The project aims to spark discussions about AI's role in religion and is not intended to replace human priests.
