Iran is exporting more oil through the Strait of Hormuz than before the war

SUMMARY

Iran is increasing its oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz despite the ongoing war, while Gulf Arab countries reduce production. Since February 28, Iran has loaded an average of 2.1 million barrels daily, surpassing February's figures. This shift aids Iran amid U.S. and Israeli opposition.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has threatened ships in the strait, causing supply fears. While fears of a doomsday scenario loom, Iran’s oil is primarily heading to China via older, sanctioned tankers.

Around 15 ships have crossed the strait since the conflict began, displaying signs of cooperation with the Revolutionary Guard.

Danish shipping firm Maersk faces challenges with ten vessels trapped in the region, emphasizing safety concerns.
