Trump says he's preparing military action if Iran talks fail: 'We're loading up the ships'

SUMMARY

Trump stated the outcome of Iran talks will be clear in about 24 hours.

“We’re going to find out in about 24 hours. We’re going to know soon,” he told The Post on Friday.

Trump confirmed an active reset with Tehran is underway as Vice President Vance flies to Islamabad for final negotiations alongside special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The talks follow a two-week cease-fire reached Tuesday.

Iran will be represented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

While diplomacy proceeds, Trump directed a massive U.S. naval buildup.

Warships are being reloaded with the best ammunition and weapons ever made.

“We have a reset going. We’re loading up the ships with the best ammunition, the best weapons ever made — even better than what we did previously and we blew them apart,” Trump said.

He added the ships receive supplies “even at a higher level than we use to do a complete decimation.”

“And if we don’t have a deal, we will be using them, and we will be using them very effectively.”

Trump noted the military stands ready to reopen the Strait of Hormuz if Iran fails to comply.

The USS Gerald Ford remains positioned from its initial Mediterranean deployment at the conflict’s outset.
