Milo Yiannopoulos detained by ICE in Louisiana

SUMMARY

Right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos is being held in ICE custody after being apprehended at an airport in Louisiana on Friday. The circumstances behind his detention were not immediately clear.

Yiannopoulos, 41, is a British national and former Breitbart News editor. He served as an unpaid summer intern for then-Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in 2022 and later worked as director of political operations on Kanye West's 2024 presidential bid, billing $116,000 for the short-lived role.

He attended the November 2022 Mar-a-Lago dinner with Trump, West and Nick Fuentes, and later told NBC News he was "the architect" of the plan to bring Fuentes, arranging transport through a former Trump campaign adviser who said she was not told who the guest was. Trump said West arrived unexpectedly with guests he knew nothing about.

Yiannopoulos and West parted ways in May 2024 after the rapper announced plans for an adult entertainment venture under the Yeezy brand.

The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
