Flávio Bolsonaro ordered to surrender passports after election defeat
SUMMARY
Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has ordered Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro to surrender his passports within 24 hours and barred him from leaving the country, a day after his presidential election defeat. Federal Police served the order Monday as he left his father’s Brasília home.
The ruling followed comments by his brother Eduardo, who said Flávio should leave Brazil if he lost. Flávio denied any plan to flee and called the order political intimidation.
He faces two Supreme Court money laundering inquiries, one involving betting platforms and another over funding for a film about his father, and denies wrongdoing.
