White House is blocked off today, Bomb squad investigating suspicious package

On July 27, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a suspicious package near the U.S. Treasury Building triggered a swift response from the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Bomb Squad and U.S. Secret Service. The package, dropped by an individual who climbed a fence on the southeast side of the Treasury, prompted immediate area lockdowns.

Secret Service Uniformed Division officers apprehended the individual, who faces charges of unlawful entry and fugitive from justice due to an outstanding warrant.
