SUMMARY

The 25th Infantry Division is transitioning from cannon artillery to rockets to enhance its capabilities. Over six weeks, soldiers will receive 16 High Mobility Rocket Artillery Systems, replacing much of the current cannon artillery. However, a consolidated battalion will retain some cannon units.

Crew members will undergo a three-week training course to adapt to the new systems and validate their proficiency during upcoming training exercises. The HIMARS rockets have a range of up to 186 miles, significantly greater than traditional 155mm cannons, which max out at roughly 43 miles. This change aims to improve the unit's striking distance and speed.
