Two meteor showers peak tonight

Two meteor showers, the Delta Aquariids and Alpha Capricornids, will peak on the night of July 29 into July 30. Stargazers can expect to see up to 30 meteors per hour under dark skies after the moon sets. The best viewing time is from midnight to early morning.

The Delta Aquariids will provide about 25 meteors per hour, while the Alpha Capricornids add 5 to 10, often seen as bright fireballs. Observers should find a dark location, allow their eyes to adjust, and avoid screens.
