International report warns against loss of control over AI

Tech giants are racing to develop more powerful AI, which has raised concerns about potential risks. Researcher Yoshua Bengio presented the International AI Safety Report at a Paris summit, emphasizing dangers like biological and cyberattacks, as well as human loss of control over AI.

He highlighted the urgency of safety measures following the rise of models like DeepSeek. Bengio called for stricter international regulations and increased research funding. He stressed, "Without government intervention, I don’t know how we’re going to get through this," fearing humanity's survival could be at stake in the coming decade.
