Sopranos actor Vincent Pastore dies aged 80

Vincent Pastore, known for playing Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero in HBO’s The Sopranos, has died at age 80. His body was discovered by friends, but the cause of death is unknown. Pastore became famous for his role as Bonpensiero, an FBI informant within a crime family, leading to his dramatic execution in the series.

His manager remarked, “To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable ‘Big Pussy’, but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more.”

Pastore, born in the Bronx, worked in nightclubs for 30 years before acting. He is survived by his daughter.
