Air Force One turns around shortly after takeoff for Trump's trip to Davos

SUMMARY

Air Force One returned to Joint Base Andrews shortly after takeoff due to a "minor electrical issue." The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. as President Donald Trump was en route to the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. The lights in the press cabin briefly went out, prompting the crew to return "out of an abundance of caution," according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

The plane landed back in Maryland about 45 minutes into the flight. Trump later boarded a different aircraft and continued to Switzerland early the next day.
