Google launches Gemini 4 Carbon with a 'significant leap' in cybersecurity

Google unveiled Gemini 4 Carbon, a new frontier model with major gains in coding, agentic tasks, and cybersecurity.

Carbon tops the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (v5.0), outperforming models like Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra on some benchmarks.

Built as an upgrade over Argon, Carbon is initially available to select cybersecurity defense firms and will expand via Google’s Fairwind Program.

It leads SEC-bench Pro for finding real-world bugs and ExploitGym for turning vulnerabilities into exploits.

Google says Carbon handles longer, multi-step tasks, can run for days to persist through dead ends, and resists prompt injection.
