Microsoft's LinkedIn names longtime exec Dan Shapero its new CEO

Dan Shapero is the new CEO of LinkedIn, succeeding Ryan Roslansky, who now retains his executive vice president role at Microsoft. Shapero has a strong background in sales, marketing, and product management within LinkedIn. Under Roslansky's leadership, LinkedIn's membership grew from 700 million to 1.3 billion, and revenue increased by 11% year over year in the fourth quarter. Despite slower growth since Microsoft's acquisition in 2016, Shapero emphasizes the importance of LinkedIn amid AI advancements. Mohak Shroff will become Microsoft's president of platform and digital work.
