Trump administration making heavy preparations for potential use of ground troops in Iran

Pentagon officials have made detailed preparations for deploying U.S. ground forces directly into Iran, multiple sources confirmed.

Senior military commanders submitted specific requests to prepare for this option as President Trump deliberates military action against Iran.

These preparations go far beyond air and naval strikes. They include full logistics for troop deployment, combat operations, and supply chains inside Iranian territory.

The U.S. military is readying elements of the 82nd Airborne Division. The Army’s Global Response Force and Marine Corps Marine Expeditionary Units are being activated.

Thousands of Marines are currently being moved to the Middle East. Three warships carrying about 2,200 Marines left California this week — the second such deployment.

The Pentagon is also planning how to handle the detention of Iranian soldiers and paramilitary forces, including decisions on where they would be held.

Trump stated he is not sending ground troops but added he would not announce such plans if he were considering them.

This marks a major escalation signaling readiness for American boots-on-the-ground invasion and potential occupation of parts of Iran.
