Pentagon orders study of potential nuclear strike in Eastern Europe

The US Defense Department is conducting a study to assess the impact of a nuclear conflict on global agriculture. The simulation, led by the US Army Corps of Engineers, will focus on areas beyond Eastern Europe and Western Russia, the proposed epicenter of a nuclear event.

Terra Analytics has been selected as the contractor, with a budget of $34 million. The study aims to incorporate aerial mapping and model a "non-destructive nuclear event."

This initiative comes amid rising concerns about a possible nuclear confrontation linked to the Ukraine conflict and tensions between NATO and Russia.
