Turkey unveils world's first laser-armed tank to shoot down drones

Turkey has introduced the world's first laser-armed tank, the ALKA-KAPLAN. Designed to combat enemy drones, this innovative vehicle integrates a directed energy weapon system. It highlights Turkey's efforts to modernize its military technology.

Developed by FNSS and ROKETSAN, the ALKA-KAPLAN combines a hybrid tracked platform with an electromagnetic jamming system. It can target diverse aerial threats, including drones and munitions, using AI-assisted tracking for rapid identification and elimination.
