US DOJ indicts former FBI Director James Comey for a second time

SUMMARY

Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted for a photo of seashells he posted on social media, which some interpreted as a threat against President Donald Trump. Trump has pushed for charges against Comey, whom he views as a major political adversary.

Last May, Comey shared an image of shells spelling “86 47,” where “86” can mean to eliminate something, and “47” refers to Trump as the 47th president. Comey later removed the post, stating he didn't intend for it to be violent.

The Secret Service questioned him afterward, and previous attempts to charge Comey were dismissed by a judge. Legal experts suggest this case may be weak due to free speech protections.
