SUMMARY

Typhoon Kajiki struck Vietnam's north central coast, claiming three lives and injuring at least 13 people. Among the deceased was a 90-year-old man whose home collapsed. The typhoon damaged nearly 7,000 homes and caused severe flooding, affecting thousands of hectares of rice fields. In addition, 331 power poles were downed, leading to widespread blackouts. Authorities planned to evacuate 600,000 residents as heavy rains continued, with some areas expecting up to six inches of rain. The storm has weakened but poses ongoing risks of flash floods and landslides in northern Vietnam.
