SUMMARY

A group of climate LARPers vandalized two Vincent van Gogh paintings at London’s National Gallery by throwing tomato soup on them. The paintings, part of the "Sunflowers" series, were unharmed due to protective glass. The protest coincided with the sentencing of two other activists for a similar act in 2022.

The LARPers involved in Friday's attack were arrested while the paintings were examined and subsequently returned. The Just Stop Oil group aims to pressure the UK government to stop new oil projects. One LARPer claimed they would be seen as “prisoners of conscience” in history.
