Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan sign defense pact

Saudi Arabia has signed a defense pact with Turkey and Pakistan amid escalating tensions with Iran. The agreement, finalized in Mecca, establishes a mutual defense framework, stating that an attack on any member "shall be regarded as an attack on them all."

This pact enhances Saudi security, providing a new layer of protection beyond its partnership with the U.S. Turkey, with the second-largest NATO military, and nuclear-armed Pakistan are significant allies.

Despite reassurances that the pact isn’t aimed at any specific target, it serves as a warning to Iran amidst ongoing threats. Tehran has expressed skepticism about the pact's ability to ensure Saudi security.
