Thailand bans tourists from going to Cambodia

Thailand has banned all travel into Cambodia amid a severe border dispute. This restriction affects vehicles and individuals at various crossings and tourists flying into Siem Reap.

The military justified the ban as necessary due to the current security situation, following armed clashes that left one Cambodian soldier dead.

In retaliation, Cambodia has halted imports from Thailand, including food and media. Exemptions to the travel ban may be made for humanitarian reasons, while the Thai Prime Minister vowed to combat scams originating from Cambodia.

This dispute has plunged the Thai government into a political crisis.
