Benjamin Netanyahu's biggest rivals merge in bid to oust his government

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rivals, Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, have formed a new party, "Together," aimed at ousting his coalition government. At a joint news conference, Lapid declared, "We are standing here together for the sake of our children. The State of Israel must change direction." Bennett will lead the party and emphasized the need to move on from Netanyahu after 30 years.

Their collaboration follows a previous coalition that briefly ended Netanyahu's 12-year rule in 2021. Recent polls suggest Netanyahu may lose the upcoming election, with Bennett and Lapid’s alliance gearing up for a challenge later this year.
