The Onion, a satirical left-wing news site, acquired Alex Jones' Infowars at a bankruptcy auction, with support from families of Sandy Hook victims. These families are seeking justice after Jones was ordered to pay over $1 billion for defamation. Robbie Parker, a father of a Sandy Hook victim, expressed, “The dissolution of Alex Jones’ assets and the death of Infowars is the justice we have long awaited and fought for.”

Jones confirmed the sale and indicated plans to legally challenge it. The sale price was not disclosed, and the future of Infowars' content is uncertain. Earlier, Jones had said he would move to new platforms if detractors purchased Infowars.
