Republican midterms war chest gets $40 million boost from Adelson

Israeli megadonor Miriam Adelson gave $40 million to the Republicans’ House and Senate super PACs.

The donation boosts the party’s war chest as it fights to maintain control of both chambers in the midterm elections.

Adelson contributed $30 million to the Senate Leadership Fund. This is her largest single contribution yet to the group. She also gave another $10 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund.

The details came in Federal Election Commission filings on Wednesday.
