Kuwait alleges that Iran attacked an island
Kuwait has accused Iran of attempting to launch an armed attack on Bubiyan Island, where a China-funded port is located. This accusation came just before President Trump’s trip to Beijing. Kuwait reported that a team of six Iranian paramilitary forces aimed to infiltrate the island on May 1, with four captured and two escaping. One Kuwaiti security official was injured during the incident.
UAE has expressed their solidarity with Kuwait following the alleged attack attemp.
Amid rising tensions, U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee announced that Israel sent Iron Dome systems to the UAE for defense. The UAE has faced Iranian missile threats and has been increasing military cooperation with Israel. Meanwhile, Bahrain sentenced over two dozen individuals for alleged ties to Iran, amidst a broader crackdown during the ongoing conflict.
