Meeting between Cuban and US delegations confirmed

SUMMARY

Cuban and U.S. delegations recently met in Havana, as confirmed by Alejandro García del Toro, deputy director general for U.S. affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He stressed the importance of discretion regarding the meeting, which included U.S. Assistant Secretaries of State and the Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

García del Toro clarified that “neither party set deadlines or made any threatening statements.” The discussion was respectful, with a focus on eliminating the energy blockade.

He described the blockade as “an unjustified punishment of the entire Cuban population” and a form of global blackmail against sovereign states.
